Chocolate Chip Cookies

I made chocolate chip cookies a few days ago and while talking to my husband I lost count of the cups of flour that I had added resulting in a flat, chewy yet tasty cookie.

 Note:  For a soft and fluffy cookie add an additional cup of flour.

2/3 cup softened butter
2/3 cup Crisco
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cup flour (for flat chewy cookie or add additional cup of flour for soft & fluffy cookie)
2 cups or 16 oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Cream together butter, Crisco, and both sugars
  2. Mix in vanilla and eggs
  3. Add baking soda, salt, flour and mix in
  4. Stir in chocolate chips
  5. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake @ 375° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly brown
